If you’re in need of a new cell phone plan, check out LetsTalk.com. They have several free phones available with contracts. For instance, you can get the Pantech Duo, normally $580, for $0 with a service contract at AT&T.
LetsTalk has many other great plans, just browse the list of promotions we have on the link above for more info.
Next up on the list today is the Digital Lifestyles 42″ Widescreen LCD HDTV from Buy.com. At only $700, it represents a 46% discount off the list price of $1300. You’d be hard-pressed to find any other HDTVs discounted for this price, especially 42″ and above.
This deal is part of a larger Labor Day sale at Buy.com, so be sure to check out their other offers and take advantage of the holiday weekend sales going on at all of the other merchants as well.

If you’ve been looking to upgrade your older generation iPod, or perhaps you’ve been in a coma for the last 5 years and haven’t heard of an iPod, check out Buy.com’s discounts on refurbished iPods.
For instance, you can get the Apple iPod Nano 3rd Gen 8GB Video (Black) for $130, or 57% off the msrp of $300. The next lowest price on shopping.com is $180, so that represents a $50 savigns off the street price.

First to get the administrative stuff out of the way. We had a power supply fail on our main server early this morning, causing the site to go down for about 5 hours. We’re now back up and running smoothly, but nonetheless, apologize for the downtime.
So today’s write-up is going to be short and sweet. Obviously the mini-PC market has been huge lately, ever since the introduction of the Eee PC. One of the newcomers to this space is the Acer Aspire One Intel Atom UMPC Notebook, which is on sale currently at MWave for just $330. That’s $40 cheaper than the next cheapest price on pricegrabber.
This mini notebook comes equipped with the Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, a highly modified version of Linux that’s fine-tuned for Acer, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 8.9″ display, 802.11b/g support, and a card reader.
Basically, this is your quintessential coffee shop PC, perfect for a trip to the coffee shop to read the morning news, or for staying connected and reading email, news, etc. while you’re on vacation. I’ve been eyeing these mini notebooks for awhile now, so it’s becoming more and more tempting. I think linux as the main OS makes this even more attractive with its lighter footprint compared to Microsoft Windows. Not to mention, it would be fully equipped to bring my web server back online after the crash we had this morning, just in case I had some emergency vacation I had to take to the Bahamas…
Enjoy!

I receieved some interesting feedback today on the Olevia 65″ HDTV we featured at Buy.com for $2600. This has reignited a debate I thought I had already put to a close in my mind, so I’m proposing my thought process through the form of a poll on the forums.
Specifically, I’d like to know if the intrinsic value (customer service, return policies, etc.) matter enough to you to affect the price you’d be willing to pay. In other words, would you be willing to pay more for a TV at Buy.com because they have a real return policy and customer service, compared to Woot, who featured the same TV the day before for $2300 ($300 cheaper)?
Please use this forum poll to record your votes and/or comments, and I can promise you, this will be considered going forward as we hand pick the deals we want to feature on our site.
Thanks!

As I mentioned recently, the TV deals are heating up due to the end of the Summer Olympics (thus liquidating any extra inventory) and the beginning of football season. One of the most aggressive deals out there right now is the Olevia 65″ HDTV LCD TV 1080P at Buy.com for a whopping bargain of only $2600 shipped!
The next lowest price I could even locate on this television was around $3600 through merchants like PC Rush and Super Warehouse (?). With a msrp of $4999, this is a 48% discount off the list price, making it a killer deal. And why not go ahead and swing for the fences with a sweet 65″ screen?
Other hot deals today include the Creative Cambridge SoundWorks PlayDock i Model MF8046 from NewEgg. With a $200 retail price, NewEgg has it listed for $160. However, if you use coupon code EMCAJCGAJ, you can get this ipod docking speaker system for an extremely aggressive price of only $70 shipped! There are several other great deals from NewEgg today, including a couple of great deals on monitors and hard drives.
We’re also featuring some great deals today from TigerDirect, including a killer desktop system from Lenovo. You can get the Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 Intel Desktop Computer for a great price of only $500, or $250 off the suggested retail price. This system features an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 500 GB hard drive, DVD+-RW, and Vista Home Premium SP1. Even if you were to try and build this system on your own to save some money, you’d be hard pressed to get in under $500.
Enjoy!

With Labor Day and football season quickly approaching, many merchants will be looking to capitalize on this opportunity with great discounts, especially with the lackluster economic situation.
One such example of this is Abt Electronics, where they’re promoting a Labor Day sale where you can save an additional 5% off the listed price on many great items. Just use coupon code LABOR2008. Also, be sure to check out the product details on our product page for this offer, because there’s a fairly long list of exclusions.
If you’re in the market for a new TV, check out Circuit City. They’re currently running a promotion on all TVs $799 and up, as well as a promotion for no interest on TVs $999 and up. They have several models on sale currently.
Also, don’t forget about their 10% coupon on orders of $249+, which is activated through this link. They exclude televisions from this promotion, but nonetheless, if you’re adding on some extras to your TV purchase like a home theater system, flat panel wall mounts, etc., this is a great way to add to the savings.
Have a great Monday!

Today is all about deals that start with S. I know, it’s cheesy, but I’ve gotta tie this together somehow!
First up is an awesome sale at 6pm.com on Skechers shoes. There are literally dozens of Skechers on sale with varying sizes available. For example, you can get the Skechers Bantam Tait for an awesome price of just $34, or 48% off the msrp. Or check out the Skechers Genesis Ruckus for only $54, or 40% off the list price of $90.
Next up is the Toshiba Satellite Laptop with Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2390, in Onyx Blue. This laptop comes loaded with 3GB of RAM, 15.4″ monitor, a dual layer DVD+-RW, and a 200GB hard drive. The best price is, it’s only $450, or 34% off the list price of $680 at Best Buy. Shipping will run you about $20, or you can choose in-store pickup to secure your price and save on shipping.
Last but not least, you’ll want something to protect your laptop while it’s sitting idle, or perhaps recharging the battery. If so, check out the Staples 10-Outlet 3600 Joule Surge Protector with Ethernet, Coax and Dataline Protection. At only $19, it’s 64% off the list price of $53. I think this is a really sweet surge protector just because of the ethernet, coax, and dataline protection. Having witnessed a lost computer once before due to a lightning storm, I tend to play it on the safe side.
Enjoy!

As always, J&R is having their weekend sale, with prices slashed on several items. We’ve picked a few of the favorites and posted them on the site. To view all the latest promotions at J&R, you can scan through our list, or go through the Shop by Merchant tab at the top of the page. Or, just simply click the vendor name (J&R) by one of the deals, which will take you to the J&R Deals page.
Also, this weekend we’re featuring several great deals from OutInStyle.com. Some favorites include the Quick System Privacy Bathroom Tent With Shower. That’s right, a tent with a shower. And it’s only $100, or $300 off the retail price. I think you might have to turn in your man card if you need a shower while you’re camping, but usually camping involves a significant other who would probably be more inclined to go camping with a shower.
For your camping needs, OutInStyle.com also has the Forest Green Mummy Sleeping Bag for only $15, or 78% off the list price of $69.
